Press Start 2P is a bitmap font based on the Namco arcade games fonts of the 1980s. It works best in 8px, 16px and other multiples of 8. While the design of uppercase letters and numbers dates back to Atari's “Sprint” (1977), the specific glyphs in this TrueType conversion are based on the “Return of Ishtar” (1986) glyphs, which were the first to be used in a screen font. (1986), which was one of the first games to include and regularly use lowercase and uppercase letters in its on-screen fonts.
