Staatliches is a clean display surface with attractive, unconventional proportions. The alphabet was designed in response to the title letter on the cover of the first Bauhaus exhibition catalogue published by Herbert Bayer in 1923. It features a complete set of capital letters, numbers, punctuation marks and symbols, in addition to optional widths, arbitrary hyphenation and common Latin accents.
