OpenSans is a humanist sans serif typeface designed by Steve Matteson, Type Director at Ascend. This version contains the full 897 character set, which includes the standard ISO Latin 1, Latin CE, Greek, and Cyrillic alphabet character sets.OpenSans was designed with a strong pen, open forms, and a neutral, yet friendly look. It is optimized for print, web and mobile interfaces and has excellent readability characteristics in its letterforms.

Font author Steve Matteson is a type designer based in Louisville, Colorado, who manages Monotype's global team. In over 25 years in the business, he has designed corporate interfaces for Android, Citrix, Microsoft, Nextel, and Xbox. Steve is a frequent researcher and lecturer on the work of typographer Frederick Goudie, and has produced many other resurrections of Goudie's Beetham, Friar and Tory texts. He is a printer, musician, writer and keen cyclist.
